Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer/Cyber-Electromagnetic Warfare Subject Matter Expert (SME). The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with expertise in end-user requirements analysis, Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and radio-frequency (RF) enabled cyberspace operations, and evaluating Electromagnetic Spectrum hardware and software technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Transformation in Contact Units to understand, educate and guide User EW requirements, and support Soldier Touchpoints.
  • Support the development of the Requirements/Capabilities Roadmap to meet the broader Army needs in an agile software development environment.
  • Support FCD by supporting the PdM EWI User Engagement team to capture Army CEMA cell needs and translate them into EWC2 capabilities.
  • Oversee the analysis and potential integration of various Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) programs.
  • Collaborate with the Armys Future Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (FCD), research and development (R&D) organizations, cross-functional teams, industry stakeholders, and Army end-users.
  • Support the update and alignment of the system architecture as well as requirements documentation with current force structure and needs.
  • Support demonstrations to senior leaders and end users.
  • Understand current and emerging threats to guide software updates as well as recommended changes to CONOPS, CONEMP, and TTPs.
  • Translate FCD requirements into actionable goals and system requirements necessary to develop effective collection strategies.
  • Assist in requirements traceability to test cases.
  • Identify existing or potential problems and provide advice to resolve engineering matters.
  • Develop presentations for support activities and/or higher headquarters to summarize results of actions against predetermined plans, current status or plans, progress, deficiencies, and outstanding accomplishments.
  • Coordinate and support all aspects of EW operations, including planning, collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, and reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to team members on new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, RF machine learning, and advancements in EW technologies.
  • Stay abreast of DoW EW policy
  • Actively identify risks associated with development of variants especially with respect to operations.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in the defense industry, with a focus on Electronic Warfare (EW) and RF enabled systems
  • Strong background in systems engineering, including subsystem decomposition, requirements analysis, and multi-domain integration
  • Experience leading cross-functional Agile teams and collaborating with government stakeholders
  • Must have demonstrated experience working directly with Army operational units to identify and refine EW user requirements; engaging with Soldier Touchpoints; translating Army CEMA cell needs into system capabilities; and supporting the development and alignment of requirements, system architecture, and test-case traceability in an agile software development environment.
  • Must have the ability to collaborate with FCD, R&D organizations, cross-functional teams, and Army end-users to develop and manage a multi‑year capabilities roadmap; oversee analysis and potential integration of NAVWAR and related EW programs; and apply understanding of current and emerging threats to guide software updates, CONOPS/CONEMP/TTP recommendations, and overall system design.
  • Must have strong experience supporting end‑to‑end EW operations—including planning, collection, processing, analysis, and reporting—while identifying and resolving engineering issues, preparing senior‑leader‑ready technical presentations, and ensuring requirements, demonstrations, and capability updates accurately reflect Army force structure and operational needs.

Clearance: TS / SCI eligibility

Preferred:

  • Experience with MagicDraw, JIRA, and Confluence

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $150000.00 to $220000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
